A Pair of Villains Rise

Anne Hathaway will be Catwoman? This should be both awesome and equally interesting.

It isn't really a secret that I really enjoyed the hell out of Batman Begins and loved The Dark Knight movies, so I have been keeping an eye out for any information about the next movie in the series. Well it was a nice surprise this morning to find an article with an interesting piece of info.

The bad guys for the third movie have been chosen and those who will portray these characters have also been selected. I have been absolutely curious as to what characters would be chosen for the third and apparently final film of director Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. I mean saying the bar was lifted very, very high would be an understatement after The Dark Knight. I read the rumors about The Riddler and I guess that could have been interesting. But the other rumors about Catwoman, now that would make for an interesting twist to things...

And now the rumors should be done and over with, as mentioned there have been a pair of villains announced, so the mystery is over. Pictured above is Anne Hathaway, who will be portraying the character Selina Kyle a.k.a. Catwoman. The second villain will be played by Tom Hardy (Inception) and he will be taking on the role of Bane.

Bane? And Catwoman?

Just wow...

I wonder where this story will go? I can't imagine this will fall the Knightfall storyline. If this third movie is truly the end, I don't think it'd make sense to have such a massive story smashed down into one movie. I think it would be safe to say that Selina Kyle would be the partial love interest to Bruce Wayne, obviously moonlighting as a villain all the while.

Or maybe this will all end on a dark note with a tragic scene of defeat? Perhaps they'll end this trilogy with Batman being broken by Bane? I mean this being like in the final minutes of the movie. Just seeing Bane lifting Batman up, who was beaten and barely conscious, only to slam him down onto his knee and breaking his back.

No, would they do that? Just end it all on such a note? Would anyone end a movie, perhaps even a series, with the hero left broken and defeated? That's impossible right?

Right?
