| Lightning in Final Fantasy XIII-2 |
It doesn't really show much, besides Lighting (pictured above) in some sort of armor and she's facing off with some dude with a similar hairstyle. Maybe she is mad that he copied her 'do...
I also watched a trailer for Final Fantasy Versus XIII and I guess I am still a little interested in that game. It certainly pulls a much more realistic atmosphere this time around, from the looks of things in the trailer. How they (SE) managed to fit magic and monsters into that, I haven't a clue.
Overall, I just don't feel all that excited to see trailers for either of these games right now. Why get worked up about games that may very well be bad? I never, ever would have thought that I'd think such thoughts when it comes down to a Square Enix game, much less a Final Fantasy game.

FFXIII's problem was the 20 hour tutorial. When you finally have access to the entire battle system, etc. it's a great game. Taking 20 hours to get to it, however, is absolutely ridiculous.
You didn't finish XIII, right? If Square Enix continues along its path of trying to make games that appeal to western audiences, this game is probably not going to hold your interest, either.
I really wish they would understand that people in the west like Final Fantasy games BECAUSE they're Japanese... /sigh
To be honest, not a whole lot of games hold my interest that well anymore. And the ones that do, end up being way too short! I think what disappointed me about Final Fantasy XIII so much was I was depending on this game to save me from this bad game hell that I feel like I've fallen into. So when it didn't, I guess that left a pretty bad taste in my mouth.
I think I might fire up FFX or FFXII just to remind me that things were okay, once upon a time. Or maybe even a SNES FF game, those would help I think...
If the game play could have stayed a little truer to the series, coupled with the visual stuff of FFXIII, I think that would have been a pretty damn awesome game...
Think FFXIII-2 will be an improvement? Or will it only serve to make matters worse?
I wish I knew. I'm hoping it will be better. I'm hoping that they will take what was good about XIII, keep that, and replace or change the stuff that really sucked.
I DO know one thing, though. That I will buy it. And I will play it. I always do. Square Enix can always count on me to buy their crap. Even if it's crap. I'm that big of a FF fangirl. Sad...lol. Oh well, it could be worse, I suppose. They only come out with a new FF once every couple of years. XD
I think I'd be the same way too, if I could afford to just buy everything that Square Enix releases. Hell if you buy everything named Final Fantasy, I think that alone could be quite a bit of games these days.
Hopefully you aren't into Kingdom Hearts as well? I can't remember.... Now that is a series that is starting to build up a heck of a lot of games in it's series.
Personally though, I am just getting tired of buying games that just aren't very good. I mean what can these guys' excuse be? I've read all that stuff about the PS3 being new tech for them and yadda, yadda, yadda.
Like I said before though, I was hoping this game would be the savior and it bombed. How can that be? I never, ever would have believed that Square Enix could actually let out a sub par numbered Final Fantasy game....
