Gaming In 2011

I have to say, 2011 doesn't seem to have a whole lot of desirable games for me in the coming months. I suppose at the end of the day that is a good thing because that will help me not spend that much this year. I still do love me some video games, no questions about that fact. But I guess times do change and after how a lot of the games ended being this past year (Fable 3, Final Fantasy XIII!), I don't expect to spend all that much.

Actually, even the games that I am almost certain to buy are kind of questionable to me at this point. I have not kept up on the changes being made to Dragon Age II. I am hoping things will be improved and not just jumbled up for the hell of it. Gears of War 3 is like my new Halo, considering how we've played the previous two games, we almost have to get this one to finish the fight. Of course, more then likely the series will continue with prequels and sequels and everything in between.

I also must apologize for the way this post ended up being published. I don't know what happened to it, but now it looks as though I was typing this up for a class or something. Such strangeness seems to be the way of things thus far. What a weird year I think 2011 will end up becoming...

Almost 100% Certain to be picking up:

Dragon Age II

Gears of War 3

Mass Effect 3

The Honorable Mention List:

Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood!

Ghost Recon Future Soldier

Little Big Planet 2

???:
Final Fantasy XIV

DC Universe Online

Deus Ex Human Revolution

DC Universe Online is fun as hell. It's more like an action game than an mmorpg and it's definitely more fast paced. Not to mention, if you like the DC Universe, then it's awesome. (I totally have the hots for Batman.)

As for other games in the coming year, I don't know if I've just become more picky or if games are just sucking more, but there's almost nothing worthwhile coming out. I think I'm planning on Dragon Age II and that's about it. Oh Gothic IV on PS3, also. I played the 360 demo, which I liked, but I like my PS3 more. Not to mention, the PS3 version will probably get extras. It almost always seems to work out that way.

I don't really mind the characters from the DC Universe. But is the game like City of Heroes (you create your own hero)? If so, then that does sound a lot more interesting to me. I wouldn't mind teaming up with Wonder Woman or Supergirl. Hell I'd even go bad and team up with Harley Quinn or Catwoman.

But seriously... I am considering DC Universe mostly because of how screwed up FFXIV is and since it won't be releasing for PS3 in March... I suppose I'll just have to wait on that game for about 4-5 years, then pick it up. Maybe it'll end up being like FFXI and get stuff like level sync and all that long after people are gone.

Yup, you create your own hero or villain. I spent about 2 hours just in character creation! It was soooo awesome. ^_^ I had one quest where I teamed up with Batman and then another with Wonder Woman. When I created a villain, I teamed up with Lex Luthor. It was pretty badass.

2 hours in character creation?! You mean there is that much stuff to consider? I think this fact alone already has me sold! Gah!

What are you playing this on? PS3 or PC? Maybe we could get a super villain team up... >.>
