| Olivia Wilde |
Oh well, can't win 'em all I suppose.
Pictured in the background is Olivia Wilde, who stars in the movie Tron: Legacy. I've been wanting to see that movie, particularly in 3-D, but the reviews haven't been all that great and I just haven't really heard anything good about this. Don't get me wrong, I am still thinking this has to at least -look- good in 3-D, but I suppose just seeing a good looking movie isn't a good way to spend the money to see a movie in 3-D.
I've actually never even seen any movie in 3-D, so I am curious to know and see if it is worth all of this crazy hype it's gotten thus far. It seems like most of the big movie releases are being shot in 3-D nowadays, which I guess makes sense considering Avatar made 700 billion dollars (I don't know the actual figure on that, just seemed to me like they made as much).
I did get to watch a 3-D TV demo (complete with the weird glasses) and I can't say it was all that impressive to me. As a matter of fact, watching the demo for a couple of minutes earned me a nice little headache for my troubles. I was disappointed mostly because it looked like those pictures in those toy picture slide show things I used to play with as a kid. Personally, I think I am liking the high def picture from Blu-Ray movies more then anything.
But this 3-D madness is still relatively new, so updates and improvements to the existing technology is inevitable. I really do wonder though, if this stuff pans out does that mean that video games will also follow suit? I can't imagine playing a Final Fantasy or Halo in such a way. But I suppose that will eventually be the way of the future won't it?
