Gah

I was expecting to write something meaningful here today, but I am about to head back to work for another 8 hour shift. This is with no sleep in between my previous shift, which was from 7am to 4pm. So now I get a 9ish pm shift until about 5:30 tomorrow morning.

Ick.

So anyway, yeah... only random thought I'll share is I picked up the XBox 360 game named Culdcept Saga. It remains unopened and on the floor, more so after reading (after the purchase) that fights can go up to 5+ hours. Slightly un-fun? Yes!

Now we plot to return it and maybe either get a refund or maybe put it towards another game. Army of Two looks interesting, seeing as how those are the only games with co-op.

And I am now off, off to beat and batter myself to no end until lord knows what happens. Hopefully this doesn't end with me dropping dead or something overly dramatical in that nature. In any event, my birthday is next month!!

God that was random...

Dynasty Warriors 6

So after several attempts (grand total of 2 to be exact) at trying to convince myself how Bladestorm is actually a fun game, it has been put out back and shot. Actually, it was shot twice just to be sure that it never ever comes back for a sequel. Along with it goes Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom. I could share a few choice words for this game as well, but...

But I think I'll just be nice today and leave it alone. I mean just being what it is (a horribly crappy game) speaks volumes for it as it is. Yes, I will spare that terrible excuse of a game the indignity of having to be subjected to an grammatical lashing and just let it die along with that other game.

So after trading in both of these world class losers, I picked up.... *drum roll*

Dynasty Warriors 6!!!

Sure it is more of the same, but that is exactly what I was expecting so it wasn't a letdown at all. I am actually grateful that it wasn't radically changed or else it would have likely been about as good as playing the 360's Beautiful Katamari.

And after playing through it for a few hours, I will say that the climbing and swimming actually don't change the game play at all. While you could make use of the climbing ability, the swimming stuff has been pretty useless as far as I've seen.

The only really noticeable changes are the alterations in the character models (some look outright funny) and the cutscenes have gotten cheesier then ever.

Despite it all though, I am enjoying DW6 a whole lot more then I did both Kingdom Under Fire AND Bladestorm combined. I am hoping and praying that Koei doesn't decide to do a Dynasty Warriors-Samurai Warriors-Bladestorm crossover. I mean it'll be like a World War between China, Japan and Suck. I mean Europe.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if anyone in Europe has played Bladestorm have feels absolutely violated? I mean their history is being put somewhat on display in a pretty lame game. Ah well, talk about random thought there.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled hack n' slashing....!

Choices...

And here I am, back to square one and feeling like I have successfully trapped myself in my very own personal dilemma. I have mentioned within this space before that my present place of employment has been the source of an ever growing frustration and now I find myself staring at the website of what is expected to become a massive source of competition (Whole Foods Market).

Even while knowing that the choice should be obvious, I am feeling (once again) this tug on my conscious. Why does my brain need to function as such as to make me feel as though I am about the betray the world? Truth be told, I haven't heard (so far) anything bad ever said about this company. Rather, I've heard nothing but positive things thus far.

So really, the choice should be blatant to my eyes and brain. I should be slamming the keys on my keyboard, filling out an online application right here and now. Maybe I just needed to spell it out for myself here and just let my brain and hands think out this process for me.

I know for certain that I do not want to be in one place (and miserable) for years on end. I've seen the results of that and it is absolutely not a pretty sight.

Wow, within these past several minutes of writing, I think the choice I need to make has become abundantly clear to me now. The verdict?

I'm going to take a chance, lay it on the line so to speak and just toss my hat in and see what becomes of it. I mean what do I got to lose right? From my perspective, I have the world to gain here and that surely sounds appealing to me at this point.

I'm feeling better already!

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

While I haven't read much into the game itself, tonight has been the very first time I've gotten to listen to the soundtrack for this prequel of sorts. To even say that I am in love with the music would very much be an understatement. If I required any sort of "selling" in order to buy this game, just merely listening to the soundtrack itself has me so deeply sold that I cannot even fathom the thought of not owning this.

I am especially enjoying the remixes of the old FF7 music, such as "One Winged Angel" and Aerith's theme. The remix for the Turks is pretty good too.

Now I can safely say that I am officially hyped up about this one. And to think, it'll be released here in the U.S. just a few days shy of my Birthday! What better a gift could a FF fan get? Err... err... don't answer that (Final Fantasy VII remake?)...

Fun Times

Man... Wednesday night was awesome! Seeing the WWE live that night definitely changed my opinion of their live shows, since the last time we had gone (also our first) wasn't all that great of a show. Not to mention this time basically everyone I wanted to see was there and wrestling (Jeff Hardy, DX, Mr. Kennedy).

Speaking of Jeff Hardy, I was (and still am) a fan of his and it was disappointing to not see him in action some years back. So to see him that night (and in the main event no less) made it all worth it.

Now the only person who I wanted to see and didn't make it was Ashley (pictured to the left). I suppose maybe in another few years?

One thing I did learn that night though and that is get there early. We were sitting in traffic for about an hour, I mean the streets around the entire Blasdell area was just plugged up and bad! Oh and being a fan without a camera was a bad, bad thing. Lesson learned for the next time the show comes to town...

The show itself had a pretty good match line-up, though we missed almost the entire "Career Threatening Match" between Ric Flair verses Mr. Kennedy.

Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton match was fun because both guys kept pointing out a sign in the crowd throughout their match. On one side it said "Shove it up your ass Orton!" and the other side said "Orton's Only Fan." So each guy kept having that particular fan turning their sign around and around. Actually what did it for me was the fact that there was this guy sitting next to us that would be screaming at the top of his lungs "RKO!" every time the crowd chanted "Y2J!"

The D-Generation X vs. Regal & Umaga match was also entertaining, mostly because of DX's antics. The place went absolutely nuts when they did their pre-match "Are you ready?" bit.

Jeff Hardy and Carlito match was pretty good, it shows how much Hardy has changed over the years. I remember before he left the WWE, his matches were just drag out boring. But now, now he looks like a guy that is actually out there with a purpose. Awesome match.

Anyway, yes... fun night, good memories. Money worth it? Without a doubt. I can't wait until the next time a show comes to town, that much is for sure.

Just Thinking

Games galore, games everywhere!

Or that is the general feeling these days, which gets me wondering why more of these didn't come out during the holidays? I suppose it was the space 'em out as to not have just a massive saturation of games all at once.

Didn't something like that happen a great deal of years ago? Hmmm...

I'm just sort of thinking aloud today, since storing thoughts in my brain isn't smart business lately. Hell, if it weren't for spell check, it is all too likely that this entire post would be a giant crash of misspellings. That would not have been cool at all.

What is cool is I'll be going to see the WWE live this Wednesday evening, which I'm hoping will be an awesome show. The last time I saw live wrestling, it was a number of years ago... which would have actually been my first X-Mas on Oahu.

Random thought: What is with Microsoft and their colored deaths? I mean red rings of death? Blue screen of death? What next?

I've been having some fun with Devil May Cry 4, though my ratings at the end of mission leaves a great deal to be desired. *Sigh*...

As much as I have tried, Bladestorm continues to be a mind numbing experience. I am praying that Dynasty Warriors 6 will be my savior. Yes same company, but still... I've enjoyed the previous DW games a whole lot more then I think I can ever truly enjoy Bladestorm.

Last little thought before I disappear again and that is a pair of games which I am eagerly awaiting. Those are Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Pictured above) and Fable 2. Both of these (to me) look to be pretty promising and I hope they can deliver on the hype that is being built for both games.

Actually, 2 games is a lie but I'll save the third game I am waiting for until next writing. At least this way I'll have at least something to come back and write about! And despite the will to write that I have been lacking inspiration lately (which would explain my lack of writing this month), I will be a man and admit that I have been outright lazy!

There, I said it.

No, I don't feel better.

I feel...

Lazy.

Oh well!

Final Fantasy IV... AGAIN

While I have been playing this game for most of my life it seems (SNES, PS1, GBA), I must admit that I am still thrilled to see this thing being "remade." So yes, I am a sucker for it and I am making people rich because of it... but still!

I remembered reading about it a while back, but tonight is the very first time I've seen any videos of it. And let me just say this...

It looks freakin' awesome!

But it gets me to wonder now and I mean seriously take a few moments of lifetime here and really think. When will Chrono Trigger ever get the love it rightfully deserves? Maybe if it gets renamed to Final Chrono Trigger Fantasy, maybe then it will be remade or re-released?

Oh well, maybe someday in the (hopefully) not-so distant future. If not, DAMN YOU SE!!! (Heh, that last line reminds me of my FFXI days). JP ONRY!!

Or, as one of my friends on there would love to say, CHOCOBO ONRY!

I think I'm *very* slowly beginning to miss that game too. Then again, there are a million games coming out this month that looks interesting to me. So I guess the online FF will just have to take the backseat and wait just a long while longer.
