It was just one of those days today, when the urge to make changes took over and stuff changed! I'm going to try and change stuff up because its been the way it is for far too long (at least in my opinion). And after the last few posts have been solely gaming related, I felt like a change of pace would be nice. There will be plenty of time for games, especially with everything that will be coming out for the rest of the year.
So today the doctor ordered random! Just a bunch of mixed up thinking to soothe the soul!
Anyway, pictured here is a sunrise which I happened to catch on my way to work one morning. While I'd like to think that I managed a fairly decent picture of it with my craptacular cell phone camera, I wish I had something better that morning. It was probably one of the nicest sunrises I've seen since I've lived on Oahu..
I just watched Valkyrie the other night and I think I liked it. I say that just because its a little strange to see a movie about Germany and no one really speaks a word of German during the whole film (minus the beginning). Okay, besides that, I have to say it was a pretty good movie.
I'd be lying if I expressed anything other then pure amazement when writing about the acting ability of Tom Cruise. This guy can really play just about any character can't he? I mean I laughed when I heard he was in a samurai movie years ago and then The Last Samurai became one of my favorite movies. And Tropic Thunder? He pulled off his character there too, showing a touch of comedy that he doesn't seem to do all too often.
I don't know what I'm saying?! But what I do know is the movie was good and it tells a interesting tale from World War II.
One thing that I am thankful for is for the drop in humidity lately. I was really missing that freezing cold weather we were having some months back here in Hawaii. But now it looks like everyday is a damn perfect beach day and I may break my 3+ years of not going to the beach yet.
One other thing to share...
My latest addiction comes in the form of a game called Infamous. It is like a cross between Grand Theft Auto, Assassin's Creed and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The controls itself feel like GTA to a certain degree. It feels like Assassin's Creed because of the ability to scale damn near anything you come across (and it controls as easily and smoothly too). And it also feels like The Force Unleashed because of the electric powers. There have been many a times when I shot off a lightning bolt and felt that same rush from when throwing those Force Lightning blasts at those pesky Storm Troopers.
But besides all of that, it has a interesting story to me and it is only getting more so as more of the pieces start to come together. Progression through the game is moving along smoothly, with occasional deaths happening here and there (thanks to those bloody Reapers).
Next game I am hoping to get the chance to try out is Prototype, which looks simliar to Infamous. But rather then the lightning, you can slash, hack and impale your enemies. Who can say no to an afternoon of video game violence? I'm sure games like this make those easily offended parents shake their fists at the world and swear they'll complain to everyone from here to the moon. Poor them...
Ha!
