Final Fantasy Mania?!

I was just about to write about how Final Fantasy VII was released on PSN, which has now successfully "forced" me to bypass Wild Arms... for now. And I happened to remember that E3 is going on right now. So giving into my natural curiosity, I went ahead and checked to see what else is happening in the crazy world of gaming. It takes but a few seconds before my eyes lock onto something that seemed so unreal to me. What did I see? I saw the picture above.

Final Fantasy XIV Online.

But before I just get insane crazy over the news, I am absolutely obligated to wonder what the game itself will be like. Is it going to be a new experience? Or is it just Final Fantasy XI by a different Roman numeral? It is my hope that there is something more for people who would rather solo, instead of having to have a group for EVERYTHING.

It isn't that I am anti-social, just more the fact that I log into the game to play. Having to sit around for hours on end for a 30 minute party was never my idea of fun.

So here's hoping that Final Fantasy XIV proves to be something better then what came before it. If it is, hell folks... you may see me return to the land of online gaming yet!

Actually, even FFXI has become more solo-able. They've increased the amount of xp that you get from EP and DC mobs. Not to mention a whole bunch of other stuff that I can't remember right now. One of my friends has been trying to get me to come back, plying me with these things. I would, if it wasn't for school, actually...

Yeah, I heard about all of that. Add in those exp rings and you could boost it even higher. But after maybe after level 23ish, you taking increasingly longer to solo.

Then again, there is that level sync business too. But eh...

What bothers me is the fact that you basically cannot do any of the major quests without having an army with you. I always wanted to play through all of that storyline stuff, but I never knew enough people to ever get anywhere near that stuff.

Nobody does quests anymore, though, since they don't actually have experience or decent rewards. Personally, I LOVE doing quests, but no one does them. Hopefully in this new game, Square Enix will make quests worthwhile... And getting "fame" just isn't good enough. =P My friend who keeps trying to get me to reactivate my account wants me to play so that he has someone to do quests with...lol.

ps - Thanks for helping me find the popsicles today. My son and I LOVE those things! ;-)

Getting fame was a interesting experience. I remember hoarding so many flutes and cabbages across the world to get "famous"... ah, the memories.

And I know what you mean. Most of the people I knew didn't want anything to do with quests, because it was always a major headache trying to get everyone together in the same place, at the same time.

No problem! Your timing was pretty good, I mean we were out of stock for ages and it only started coming back in about a week or two ago. I always wanted to try one of the soda flavors, those always have a good smell to them.

Heh, thats a little weird to be saying that about a ice pop.
