Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires

After years of playing different versions of the same game, I am actually a little excited to try the new Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires game. Of all the different DW games, the Empires series has been the only I've never actually tried yet.

What is a little interesting about this game is every other store has this, but NOT Best Buy. Apparently they will get the game today or tomorrow. A little behind in the world they are. Anyway, to my surprise this game was actually sold out at the GameStop I went to (at least for the Xbox 360 version).

I think the biggest part that I am interested in here is the ability to be able to play either a ruler, an officer or a lone wolf mercenary. I'm thinking about trying to get through an entire game without siding with anyone. Just waltz onto the battlefield and start swinging is how I'm seeing it!

And it is a nice change of pace, hearing how you've got to do more in battle then just hack and slash here. During these battles, the key is to steal away the enemy bases and protect your own at the same time. Also according to what other players have said, the difficulty has been tuned up, so playing on Easy mode won't be all that easy these days.

I'm feeling I'll either enjoy the mess out of this game or go down in a swearing rage. I really don't think there will be any middle ground here. With the added touches of having to protect your lands, while invading everyone else and the choice of ruler, officer or loose cannon, makes for an interesting twist to this old formula. However which way it all goes down, it looks like I'll be headed back to ancient China once again...
