Goodbyes and Fresh Starts...

So last night marked the last time myself (my character is Alexandor) and my girlfriend's (her character is Kellar) last time in the world of Final Fantasy XI. We had hoped that maybe it could have ended with a lot of good memories, but it really didn't.

Well, not to say that it ended badly. The three of us (pictured to the left) did have a fairly good time being the weirdos we are. Conversations included talk about retarded, drooling, cross eyed Chocobo inbreds that could withstand numerous headshots via walls, doors and other objects and/or persons.

It was just... it just reminded us why we needed to take this break before we ended up truly miserable person. A game should be all about having fun and not having to take it as if it were life itself. If it was, and we were paying $12 a month, then we were the fools. And for a while, we both have been taking it far too seriously in that we put off life and basically suspended ourselves from the outside world to be in this fantasy place instead.

Ok, that makes it sound a whole lot worse then it really was. We weren't bad to the point where we vanished off of the face of the Earth. No. We just negliected to take care of real life business and now its time to scramble and play catch up instead.

Ultimately, I think we will be back in that game eventually. Our goal is to maybe get back there in about 3 months, or that is our hopeful time table to turn our lives around and get everything settled and back on track.

On the flip side, we've come across an online rpg that is free and hopefully dial-up capable. Its something called Maple Story, which looks pretty damn good. Only one problem stands in the way now. Why in the bloody heck can't we get our confirmation codes!?

*takes deep breathes*

...No stress... so what if I got sick of waiting and hit their resend button until it said I hit the daily limit. And still did not get a single email... and yes, I did use the correct email address too. Sonofa... lol

And that's it. Looks like this really is the ending of the chapter that was Final Fantasy XI (at least for us, for now). It was fun for the most part, stressful during the rest. Still, hopefully we can turn our lives around and get our messes fixed up and what not. Maybe then... we will return...
