So besides hitting the theaters (which I think I might do tomorrow, with the new Hellboy movie out), we've been renting movies here and there as well. What pleases me so much about it is we've been getting a pretty good run of movies, nothing which I can say much of anything bad about. The last "bad" movie I think I saw that we've rented was Dragon Wars. That was one... different...
A complete opposite of this would be Spiderwick Chronicles, which I didn't expect to like (but did). But each time I see one of these fantasy type movies, it makes me wonder: How could Eragon have ended so, so bad?
Anyway, I think the top 2 movies that I'd have to give a nod of recommendation to is "The Bucket List" and "Be Kind Rewind." Both of those movies have some good stories behind of them and the actors involved absolutely fit their roles perfectly. Those two movies join the list of recent favorites, along the likes of "Iron Man", "P.S. I Love You" (this one actually made my girlfriend cry from basically the start until the end and that says something) and even Wall-E.
One movie I won't recommend is "Semi-Pro," just because of the fact that it is yet another typical Will Ferrel movie. That isn't to say that it is a bad movie, I mean it does have it's funny moments here and there. But really, at this point my feelings about his movies are, as the saying goes, "once you've seen one, you've seen 'em all."
Now that I think about it, maybe I'll make a list right here and now. Maybe a top 10? Nah, that gets done too often. Besides, I think there are more then 10 movies which I'd rank up there as actual favorites anyway. Hmmm... maybe a top 25 then? Yeah, that'll work I think.
So here goes my top 25 favorite movies, off the top of my head, in no particular order of course. I must be getting lazier, to resort to having to make a list just to make it appear as though I've put in some sort of effort in writing this.
Then again, it did take some mental strain to recall these 25 favorites so...
1. Batman Begins
2. P.S. I Love You
3. 3:10 to Yuma
4. The Bucket List
5. Howl's Moving Castle
6. Wall-E
7. Secondhand Lion
8. Spirited Away
9. The Incredibles
10. The Last Samurai
11. The Matrix
12. Jet Li's Fearless
13. Shoot 'em Up
14. Disney's Aladdin
15. Transformers
16. Iron Man
17. Juno
18. Wild Hogs
19. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
20. Casino Royale
21. Batman
22. Click
23. Harry Potter (can't decide which I liked better)
24. Stardust
25. Nacho Libre
And so there you have it, another post come and gone and another day ends. Besides that, now that we've gotten a Wii Fit, I've got work to do in order to lose that pesky 5 pounds in 2 weeks. While I didn't hit the top of the BMI scale (I did get ranked as "Overweight"), I am a tiny bit over the weight I should be at. No surprise there for me, I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand and know that part right?
Anyway, now I'm just procrastinating like a son of a bitch when I should be doing something besides just sitting here. Yup, I'm up and going!
Not.
Yet.
Going.
Going...
Ok, I'm gone...
I'm fat! *cries*
Bad thought, but my co-worker and I thought it would be extremely bad (and sadistically funny) if the Wii Fit employed an actual voice. Not a soothing, motivational one either. I mean this sucker will call you fat, laugh as you run and just done right be an asshole.
Yes, as I said, it is extremely bad thought and I'm sure that would get Nintendo (or anyone else that tries) sued from here to the moon and back again. And yes, we must have had a lot of free time. Wait, no. Actually, that was the product of working for over 10 hours in a single day.
Did I ever mention I hate Monday nights?
