Wolverine & The X-Men

Note: There was much intention on making this a bit of a worthy read, but after having to rewrite this about a half a dozen times, it is what it is unfortunately. Thanks Blogger... -_-

It was many long years ago when I stopped buying into the world of comic books. At the time, things just didn't seem as interesting and my interest had actually swung over towards Manga, which had compelling characters and stories that seemed like worlds beyond anything in any comic I'd ever read.

Fast forward to the present day and basically all Manga that I've ever had interest in has basically all but fallen off the face of the Earth. Besides that, the release schedule for those books was just too ridiculous for me as having to wait 5 months to a year is just insane to me. So after muddling around the idea of collecting/read comics for a number of years now and even reading through a few different titles across Marvel, DC and various other comic companies, I've finally decided to get back into the world of comics. What am I following? Well seeing as I've always been partial to the X-Men, that is exactly where and what I've decided to come back for.

Things have been absolutely insane as far as story is concerned and me trying to play catch up has proven a little futile at best. There is just so much happening that it feels a little impossible to catch up! But at the heart of it all, the biggest reason I've decided to get back into these books is the simple fact that Wolverine and Cyclops had finally gotten their beef out there and now each of those guys are now leading a team of their own.

Having picked up and read the first issue of Wolverine & The X-Men, it seems like chaos will be following Wolverine and his team closely. How he and his "staff" will manage the school he opened seems like the biggest question mark at this point. Things definitely started off on a less then favorable foot. I'm more then a little curious to see how that will play out.

What I'm also finding interesting is who makes up the teams, which had a few surprises for me. Now I don't want to spoil who ends up with who, in the off chance that someone actually stumbles across this blog and has some intent on reading these comics. But the sides are very peculiar to say the least.

On top of this though, I am wondering what the future holds for X-Force, which was a group that was basically reassembled based on an understanding between Cyclops and Wolverine. By the sounds of things the group will continue on, but it'll be something to see how this, too, will work itself out.

Now having to wait until next month for the relaunched Uncanny X-Men is going to be a test of patience for me. I wonder where Cyclops will lead his group post Schism? And what will happen when Cyclops and his group inevitably cross paths with Wolverine and his?

Blah, all I can do now is wait...
