Back to the Groove

After taking a brief break from gaming, I've slowly getting back into the mix of things. What can I say? A lot of the games I've got right now aren't cutting it for me. Recently though, I've tried to replay both Mirror's Edge and Blue Dragon. While Blue Dragon no longer puts me to sleep on contact, Mirror's Edge has been kicking my ass like never before. I spent most of my time flying off of rooftops, sailing down to my untimely death.

One new game that I've been playing is called The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai. Basically it is a hack and slasher, but it does have a strange and somewhat interesting story behind of it. Favorite weapon of choice: Chain saw!

Another game that has seen some playtime is Resident Evil 5, which is nice to play as a co-op for a change. My gripe with it is this though: Why did they have to split the screen the way that they did (Call of Duty: World at War style)? It's annoying! Just split the damn screen in half!

Yet another gripe is, why do they send in a team (the characters you play) into this place WITH ONLY A HANDGUN WITH VERY, VERY LIMITED SHOTS? Not really helping the chances of success here huh? And speaking of ammo, it is interesting as it is annoying how you can buy the guns you come across and yet you cannot buy ammo! A lot of good a shotgun with 6 shots will do ya in the middle of a crowd of angry, evil intentioned zombie-type people.

Side note: For the first time ever, I finally got to play LittleBigPlanet at Wal-Mart last week. I'd like to say I did well in the level I played in, but I did not. I spent a good deal of time falling off of stuff and burning. Very much like playing Mirror's Edge I'm afraid... my character experienced all too well the sensation of falling to your doom, over and over again.

The Road to Hell

So I've been a little out of my own loop lately, which isn't say much... but still! Work has been my central focus for the most part and from now and until sometime in January, we'll be swamped by a mass of Japanese gift sets and varieties of mochi, teas and the list goes on. I remember how this sale was last year (I had the good fortune to have started working just as this sale began) and I expect to be crazy by mid-November, if not sooner.

Blue Dragon progress report: I've finally reached to the 3rd disk and I think it is safe for me to say that the favorite character around this household is easily Marumaro. That Devee has got character... and gas!

Oh and dare I omit the fact that my XBox 360 has begun to forget how to read disks and inform me that the games I am inserting into it need to be XBox 360 games. If memory serves me right, my first 360 pulled this crap off just before it tossed the ever popular red rings of death at those bloody idiots at Wal-Mart. Yes, good times are ahead... *sigh*

Another way I've been passing some of my free time lately has been watching the first 2 seasons of the Tenchi OVA series. That is easily among my all-time favorites, which is more then I can ever say for that goddamn 3rd season that was released a few years (?) ago. The ways a series can be butchered... yeesh... and to top it off, it ends just like Ranma 1/2 and Inu-Yasha! NO FREAKING ENDING!

*Cough*

But that is a different story for a different time, which might be next time considering how brain dead I've been lately. I kind of can't wait for some turkey this year, for reasons which I cannot quite spell out simply because. Well, I don't really know to be honest.

Maybe it is just the simple thought of food?

Or maybe some pie?

Mmmm....

A rather off subject here folks, in compairson to the other stuff today that is, but man hasn't the weather in Hawaii been a bitch? Rain, no rain, rain, no rain... just let it rain damn it! Downpour is good! Hmm, Flooding...? Eh... So long as it takes all of those (and only those) Japanese gift sets and all that other stuff back out to sea, I. Am. Happy.

The End.

P.S. If anyone happens upon a few million dollars or so, just laying around some place... that would be mine. Yes, that would be the funds from my own... Um... Video Games for Terminally Bored and Hapless Individuals. Hawaii. Federation. Association. Foundation. Group. Inc.

Side Note: I was/am surprised to see the Nintendo Wii being advertised in the sale ads lately. Does this mean there is finally stock to meet the demand? Or is this just another round of sick, twisted and disgusting humor on the part of those that simply cannot keep up? But decided to run it in their ad just for shits?

I should hope not...

Back on Track Again!

I've picked back up on Blue Dragon a little and one thing I will share is my general indifference towards the characters. This is pretty much my one and only gripe about the game really, the fact that the characters feel so very flat. There really wasn't any true backgrounds given for Shu, Jiro or Kluke. Oddly enough, I admit the two characters I do like are Marumaro and Zola, whom do have significantly more (compared to the other three characters) fleshing out.

Call me a fan boy, but one reason why I am always drawn me back to Square-Enix RPGs is because of their ability to craft characters and stories that make you give a damn. People appear and play a part in the story, each one has a past and each of which is played out for the player to experience. A good example, in my opinion, is the character Basche, from Final Fantasy XII. Or Cecil from Final Fantasy IV. Or how about the characters of the Kingdom Hearts games? I'd say that was a fairly well crafted affair in my own humble opinion.

Still with me here, with all of this? This whole thing might not make much sense, since I tend to get my words jumbled up and crossed fairly easily in subjects like this. But I think what I am trying to get at is, well... hell I just miss the characters that weren't so damn hollow. I think that is the sole reason why I tend not to pick up that many RPGs these days. For me it is just a huge waste of money, to be playing a game that is about as well thought up as a finger in an electric outlet.

Maybe those well thought out RPGs are a thing of the past, mere figments of imaginations that are now long gone with the wind. I mean who plays games for well developed characters and stories? That's dork stuff right there! Just spice up the graphics and throw in a few fucks and a couple of buckets of blood and ta-da! We've got ourselves a game folks!

So it looks to me that the only salvation left, if even, is left solely in the hands of Square-Enix. I wish there were more variety to it, but it looks like that is going to be it for any forseeable future. Everyone else seems to go through the motions, but really... they just fall short in the end. Yes, I understand that I am likely expecting more then what will ever be released again, but eh...

Anyway, I just got to watch the Chinese movie, Seven Swords, and it is pretty enjoyable in my book. OK, so I haven't watched it entirely to the end yet (the movie is on 2 DVDs, the original I read is about 400+ minutes). So I shall return again to post up some thoughts on that once I've see it to it's end. Until then...

Hulk squash!

Games on the Brain

I got my first taste of Final Fantasy XI in quite a few months today and I am still not quite 'hooked' or throughly convinced that I'll make a full return. I was passed the control for my girlfriend's Monk and had to take over in her party for about an hour. Nothing fancy needed, just pound away at the unsuspecting (well that isn't entirely true) bird until it dies.

Simple!

Then again, it was beginning to put me to sleep and I don't think that is a very good thing while in the middle of a party. Still, it was, at the very least, a little interesting to get back into it. I'd prefer to level up my Samurai, but I was happy enough just to get in a few first 'vokes and a couple of weaponskills here and there.

Maybe that is the secret? Small doses of this online game just might be the trick!

Hmm... nah...

Besides, I still have a number of other games I'd like to see finished off beforehand and none of them are even half way finished yet. I am slightly surprised to be here and saying that there are still a couple of good stories left in offline RPGs it seems. Well, good enough for me to want to actually see how they all end. Topping that list is a bit of a draw between Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata. Maybe more Eternal Sonata at this point...

Surely both of them aren't instant classics (from what I've played through so far at least), but I will say that both look pretty damn promising. What I am hoping for now is maybe a couple more RPGs for the XBox 360 and who knows? Maybe those will be much better then those that are out right now!

Wishful thinking, yes. But a gamer can hope, can he not?

Going, Going... Crazy!

So tonight I find myself being tired (surprise!) and bored and that is kind of sad considering the games I have unfinished. But I think this boredom is different then the usual case, being that I don't honestly believe gaming will help. I think the fact that I'm being tired also isn't helping my present situation either. Then again, I shall try and game it and see what comes my way from it...

Actually I did. Sort of.

Let me just go on the record now and say that Solitaire is definitely not a good choice for long term boredness. Hell, I think I've gone 1/8 so far and I'm playing more as I write this bugger up. So now I'm bored, tired and my eyes are burning. Great, that sure solved my issues didn't it?

Side Note #1: R.E.M.'s song, It's The End of the World, sure does sound like a good idea during times like this. Maybe the world is ending? I can feel it, coming in the air tonight? Oh lord?

Good lord I am listening to some old shit tonight... must find a duster to ensure that my brain survives the night without being flooded by dust.

Anyway, yes... I haven't got the damnest clue as to what I am going to write to further my own personal writing revolution here. OK, maybe revolution is a bit much considering I am my own army and all. Maybe a personal cult? It'd be funny and equally sad if I could hypnotize myself into believing something absolutely ridiculous.

Here is an interesting and totally worthless fact: Apparently, according to Blogger's spell check, I have included a number of my own words into this. So maybe there really is a revolution? Hmmm... I think I must find a way to keep up with myself here.

Side Note #2: I could use this opportunity to remind the world about how I think my job sucks. But really, that kind of attitude will only work against me in the end. So what I am proposing (to myself of course) is the implementation of a new theory. Something so radical and new, even I'd surprise myself on a daily basis because of it.

I ABSOLUTELY ENJOY, NO! LOVE!! I LOVE MY BLOODY JOB!!! YES!!!!

Note-to-Self: Next time an idea about positive thinking comes up when I conjure up the thought of work, beat self with a stick until dead. Repeat as necessary.

Halo 3 is fun... wait, no, that isn't entirely what I wanted to say. Halo 3 is good, but Plasma grenades are the absolute SHIT! Yes, yes... I admit it now, I do have a fondness for explosive weaponry in video games. Why, just the other day I played the a round of "The Forge" with my girlfriend.

How did it go?

She got 1 kill.

I got 24.

So I sound like a loser, saying how I beat my girlfriend in a round of Halo. Believe it or not, she can whoop a bit of ass in Gears of War...

I miss the Chainsaw Bayonet...

I think I might pick back up on playing Blue Dragon, although I haven't the slightest as to what in the blue hell I was doing in-game. One thing that bugs me about the game is the fact that basically everything in sight can be checked and it all counts! Even nothings! It just boggles my brain because now I'm not even sure if I got 'em all when I started out...

I guess that is what I get for just stopping and going onto Dot Hack//G.U. and not going back for about a month now? Maybe less, I'm not all that sure.

Recently, it came to my attention (upon reading it up in the newest Game Informer mag), that there is a Dynasty Warriors 6 in the works. Get this, among some new additions are the abilities to climb ladders and swim. And I thought I was doing some revolutionary shit here...

Beyond this point is the point where if I write anything further, my brain will trigger a fail-safe system that will immediately shut my mind down. It is sounds bad, but it is there to protect my brain from overuse and rain. Maybe snow too. I've never seen snow... such is the tragedy that was my childhood.

Maybe they should have kept the monkey....

Blue Dragon: Second Opinion

Eh, I meant to write this a while ago and I had every intention of doing so. But I just couldn't find the time or energy to make the effort of getting this out here. Work is just draining, leaving me pretty much not wanting to do much of anything once I do get home.

But that is a different story for a different time, because this entry was meant for Blue Dragon. Has my opinion changed for the better? Or worse? To sum up my feelings, I am still generally unmoved from much of what I have said before. Certain elements in the game has gotten better, while others are unchanged. Oh and yes, I have moved onto disk 2, which happened sometime last week.

For starters, your team is pretty damn powerful (if you've been leveling them up) and towards the ending of disk 1, you get your fifth and final (I think) team member in Zola. Now having a four person team was pretty kick ass as it was, but adding in one more? Absolute domination! In my own experience, there hasn't been an enemy or boss that has given me enough trouble to warrant a mention here.

Then again, I have heard that this game was intentionally made easier... is this Final Fantasy 4 all over again? Do we need to be treated like RPG noobs? I guess someone out there felt that was needed, or maybe this was done for mass appeal? Well whatever the case might be, this game does feel a whole lot easier to nearly the point of insanity in some cases.

One thing that has been bugging me is the music. I mean yes, it is Nobuo Uematsu, but it seems to teeter into great or just outright annoying. Battle music never changes, nor does the boss fight music for that matter. It does sound good the first time, but after hearing it over and over again, it does lose its appeal. I will say that my favorite so far is the music played during your trek through Nene's flying fortress. Simply AWESOME.

One last thing and this part goes towards the characters and, as I had said during my first impression post, their lack of depth. Sadly, that part has not changed and very, very little is said about Shu, Jiro, Kluke, Maromaru and Zola. Maybe I should take on 'so far'? At this point, I guess it wouldn't be too wise to expect much in the way of any real background stories...

I think what hurts this game the most is the level of expectation that was set before it was released. I mean it was being toted as XBox 360's answer to Final Fantasy... which is something that I am not convinced of thus far. No, I am not a Final Fantasy Fanboy (maybe I am, just a little?), I mean I have enjoyed a great deal of other RPGs over the years that weren't initialed 'FF.'

Speaking of which, I kind of want to replay Earthbound.....

Anyway! Now don't get me wrong here folks, alone it (Blue Dragon) is a pretty good game. The English voice overs gave me a headache, but thank god for Japanese voice overs! Oops, getting off track again here. Yes! Blue Dragon is good! But as far as measuring up to a Final Fantasy? Blue Dragon, as of my experiences so far, falls pretty short of that mark. I still will say that this looks and plays something like Dragon Quest VIII, not saying as that is a bad thing but...

But my time is up! I will soldier forward and continue Blue Dragon in hopes that there is more to that world then meets the eye. I shall return! Eventually!

First Impression: Blue Dragon

While I don't have endless sea of thoughts flowing through this young/old brain of mine, it is just that I am bored and can't sleep. So here I am, rather then sleeping I am up and writing. Typing. You get the drift.

Anyway, onto the main event of this morning writing session. Gaming... that's what I feel like setting my sights on and just hack away and type up a storm. I mean, why not? Surely this is an improvement over such wonderful topics like work and life and responsibility.

What shall I go on about? What game will I attempt to write about in hopes to convey my interests or lack thereof? There have been a few games that I have played lately, but there is one that stands out for me.

Blue Dragon.

It has been what has been keeping me busy (why I am not playing it now is beyond me... or is it?) lately, well whenever I turn my XBox 360 on anyway. Truth be told, I've been fearful about using it too much, for fear that it will one day present to my fragile eyes those dreaded red rings of death.

I've only put in about 10 hours or so thus far, but so far I am generally impressed with the game. It definitely plays a lot like Dragon Quest and because of the character designs, I even tend to think I am.

And that is something I kind of like, I mean I can appreciate the old school style that the game carries. It is nice and refreshing, considering how complex video games can be these days. Man, do I sound old saying that or what?

Honestly though, while it is a fairly good game, Blue Dragon just isn't a Final Fantasy. Is it the XBox's answer to Final Fantasy? Sure. When the only choices on the XBox as far as Final Fantasy games are concerned are FFXI, anything could easily qualify as the "answer."

The characters themselves are ok, as goes the story as well. Neither of them stand out all that much and its seems expected for the player to be able to connect with the group with very little background story to fill in the blanks. Maybe it'll be spelt out more later in the game, which I am hoping for, but as of right now there isn't really much to go with.

One thing to me that I am finding oddly addictive is the ability to chose a class and power up your Shadow. Why is it so? I can't really say for sure yet, but it has been for me. What makes it interesting is the ability to mix and match up abilities to make up a balanced fighting (or healing) machine.

Overall?: This is definitely a game that I will see to the end, if for nothing else because of the fact of the people behind of the game. I respect everything that they have done for RPGs and yes, Final Fantasy probably couldn't be the monster of a series it is today without them.

What Happens When The Mind Slips Away

Madness by any other name is still madness

I'm bored right now and I haven't the faintest clue as to how to pass the time away without going insane. I could clean up around my place, but that requires a level of effort and dedication unforseen around these here parts in many a moons.

Of course there is also the ever cheerful task of laundry, but again, effort and dedication required and so... maybe another day.

Then there is option number three, which brings me right back here to this little blog of mind. I could write! Type! Type away to my heart's content, to let loose whatever it might be that floats through this brain of mine. I haven't done that in ages and I think it is so very long overdue by now.

But where to begin? How shall I start? What could set off the mind to such an extent as to let loose without fear or regret?

One moment please, I need a moment of silence to ponder and piece together a fool proof plot for the matter at hand. These sort of things take thought and preperation and dedication... and effort... curses! I have fallen into the trap when I least expected it!

It is too late now though, because the plot has been thought up and finalized and it is already in motion. I shall unleash an entry with a lot of things said that may very will end up meaning absolutely nothing! Where by rendering all of this as useless chatter and drooling!

Or will it?

Madness by any other name is still madness, though we will be to the point from here on. To the point indeed! And so now it begins, the beginning of the end! Or maybe it is the end of the beginning? Or maybe it is a few minutes before the end? Or was it the beginning? Ah, damn confusion! Forget it! Onward! Forward! March towards insanity's end!

And to start, what do we have here folks!? A double post today! In case it isn't known to all by now, I'm freaking bored and sitting around the house is absolutely no good way to pass the time! I think I just might be going completely out of my mind, which somehow draws up the idea from the depths of my brain, the idea I had for work.

Fun, fun old work...

I've been suppressing this increasingly strong urge to start arguments with myself and I don't mean anything subdued either. I mean full blown, I hate your guts because you work too goddamn slow kind of arguments. OK, so maybe I could argue with others rather then with myself here. But considering there really isn't anyone else in my department... what is a guy to do then?

Another idea, along the lines of what I just mentioned, is to hold meetings with nothing but empty chairs around. No other actual people, just the damn chairs. And, again, just scream and yell and scold and berate them all for being such unproductive workers.

Someone asked me the other day if working by myself is getting to me and what did I answer?

"Nah, not yet..."

Because clearly, my mind is still functioning properly (as it always had, mind you) and there is absolutely no evidence to suggest otherwise.

At least nothing anyone at my workplace could find, unless they managed to probe my mind and uncover the existence of my blog here. Then they would see what I have in mind and that would ultimately lead to my demise. But really, if they could do all of that... wow, what in the hell would they be doing at a Japanese grocery store anyway? Shouldn't they be working with some kind of... um... undercover, intel-gathering thing for the government or something?

Wait, while I'm at it, what in the hell am I doing in a Japanese grocery store anyway!? I can't even read/write/understand Japanese! And I'm part Japanese!!??

It's always fun to have a customer approach me and just let loose in Japanese. I imagine the momentary look of a defeat must be too much for these old people to comprehend. God knows I just hear mumbling the likes of which don't think any school or class or anything could ever hope to help me understand whatever it is these people are saying to me.

Ah, the things that desperation will force a person to do when they have absolutely no other options left. Maybe next up, I'll apply at a Chinese restaurant. Not as a bus boy or dishwasher, but as a cook no less. Can I cook Chinese food? Hell no!

So if you're in Hawaii, around the island of Oahu, beware of the Chinese restaurants. You never know, I could very well be the cook in the back cooking up some random concoction such as cardboard soup with three month old noodles in oyster sauce and curdled milk surprise. Speaking of noodles, ever see noodles after it has begun to mold over? It looks kind of creamy....

In other news, the weather here has gone from raining to sunny, effectively burning my brain in ways that aren't all that humane. Thanks Mother Nature, that is what I really wished for today.

I could move my ass to a different part of my apartment and sit down in front of my TV and play Blue Dragon. But fears of that $400 piece of machine breaking on me is just too much pain for this heart to endure. Should it really happen, I think I'd smash it to tiny little pieces and mail it back to Microsoft in a trash bag wrapped in duct tape.

But then I doubt the postal service will accept it. Where would I put the stamps anyway?

Anyone read about the Shaolin Monks that are totally pissed off because someone on the internet said some monks got their asses handed to them by a Japanese Ninja. Hell, they even went as far as to get a lawyer! Are you fucking kidding me?

Imagine watching a Bruce Lee movie and when the bad guy hits Lee, the fight stops and the room fills with men in black suits and dark shades.

Men in Black, the Chinese version you wonder? Nope! Mr. Lee has just executed his most lethal move! The Lawsuit! Dun dun duuun!

I don't know, but somehow I think I'd end up sitting down to watch a movie like that. It would an awesome comedy!

And now I think I will leave this blog alone and just walk away silently. I must do it or who knows? Maybe the effects could contagious. So now I shall get off of the chair I’m sitting on and then the plan is simple. I will now conduct a futile search for something productive to do to pass the time and hope that my state of mind will return to “normal.”

Or else the world be damned, it has been put on notice as of whatever moment is required for such a notice be to issued. Or something. Insanity will run rampant and the first target on the list will be good old workoffice chairs beware!

Side note: After as many posts as I've done here, I've finally gotten around to using the bold button. I made bold many words to which I think summerize what I was saying in each part. Really though, I was just having fun with it and so it'll probably make very little to no sense at all. It was still fun to me!

Survival of the Craziest

...And so the story soldiers forward, onwards to whatever fate may have in store for those whom fear not defeat nor death.

Ah, but alas this way comes our hero as he returns from the battlefield. His face speaks silently of tales of harrowing dangers and perilous foes and the like. One may wonder, silently mind you, of what those sun worn and battle hardened eyes of his have seen.

Yet it is his stride that catches the eyes of those whom would other wise pay little to no heed to this man. It is within his stride, the walk of man whom holds strong to his pride and honor. Surely he is battered and beaten, the trials which he survived were long and arduous, there is no question about that.

But he is alive and in relatively one piece.

Who could really ask for more?

And there went my attempt at writing... with the way things have been going at work this past year, I've really fallen out of the loop of actually writing. By that I mean the stories that I have been slowly beginning and just dropping before they ever see the endings they all rightly deserve.

But that is life for ya...

At least I survived not just Monday, but Tuesday AND Wednesday as well. That should definitely earn me a medal or something (Yeah right).

Things should be interesting tonight, since Blue Dragon (XBox 360) is being released over here in Hawaii today. Hopefully the reviews I've read are all lies and this game absolutely rocks my XBox to death!

God I hope it doesn't decide to pop that red ring of death on me now. Anyone care to see a XBox 360 fly then?

Another game which has caught my attention (though I cannot afford it at the moment) is Dynasty Warriors: Gundam.

Yes, I have played a few of the previous Dynasty Warriors games and I think I know generally what to expect. Still, it is nice to get home and hack and slash hundreds of enemies just for kicks. Oh wait, there are missions and stuff in the game huh? Hmm...

In other random personal news, I am still watching Naruto. Is it just me, or is the pacing of the series a lot like Dragon Ball Z? By that I mean they spend a lot of time facing off and yapping rather then pushing forward in the story.

The series that I've been liking more is Naruto Shippudan, which hasn't even been released over here in the States yet. Freakin' awesome stuff! I mean at least they aren't wasting as much time as they do in the regular Naruto series.

Onto a little bit of wrestling chatter here... how long as it been since I went off about this stuff? Oh well, anyway...

Come on folks, surely a lot of people hate his guts but WWE must have some grand master plan in store for John Cena. I mean for them to have him as their WWE Champion for as long as he has been and not to mention the number of guys he has defeated. Just all in all, there just has to be a reason...

It's funny with Randy Orton, I mean certain feuds he looks absolutely horrible and others he just looks like a true to life Legend Killer. So I hear he has been doing fairly well off in his feud with Cena, but his loss at SummerSlam kind of paints the tale of where this feud is going.

But it still makes me wonder, will Orton be the guy that ends Cena's long reign as Champion?

Speaking of Champion, I wonder what the idea is for CM Punk. To lose to Nitro... er... John Morrison three times now? And here he (Punk) comes with yet another chance at the title. Will the fourth time be the charm? Personally, I hope so or else why bother coming back for a fifth time?

Undertaker is coming back at Unforgiven and The Great Khali is World Champion. Sure, Rey Mysterio has a title shot coming his way, but I still gotta believe the WWE will save the title drop for 'Taker. Or maybe it'll be Undertaker against Mysterio for the World title...?

I hope this isn't leading back towards Rey's days as the 'Giant Killer' like he had during his days in the old WCW.

One final comment from me today and it's about the recent passing of pro wrestler Crush or otherwise known as Brian Adams. Or, as he was called around my hometown, the Kona Crush.

It is sad to hear that he passed away, he was a pretty decent wrestler and hell, the man is an alumni from the same high school I graduated from. My condolences to the family, I wish them all the best during these hard times.

God I hope there aren't any more wrestler deaths this year...

Few Thoughts to Begin August

Big month this month, in that it's finally time for Blue Dragon to be released here in the States. OK, so that might be the biggest news ever, but it kind of is for me.

For one thing, I am curious to see if the XBox finally has an RPG worth playing. I mean yes, they did have games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Fable, but that doesn't compair to say like a Final Fantasy.

Or, hopefully, Blue Dragon.

Speaking of Final Fantasy, I've been reading the rumors and a part of me hopes that they become true. What the hell am I talking about? I'm talking about the rumor that FXIII isn't going to end up as a PS3 exclusive. It would make life a whole lot cheaper for me, that's for damn sure!

One more bit about FF, I wish Square-Enix would just do a damn remake of Final Fantasy VII (if they aren't already). Those guys have got to be sick and tired of being asked if they are and clearly there is more then just a buzz over the idea.

So what's holding up the process? Then again, that alone could very well set the stage for me to attempt to pick up a PS3. Yes, one game alone has that kind of power of me... I admit it!!!

My girlfriend and I just finished off Gears of War (Casual setting) and it was pretty fun. I love the chatter between your group, it certainly does keep things interesting. But I think we might give it another go, this time on Hardcore setting, just to see how that'll go for us.

I mean truth be told, neither of us are all that great at this type of game. But what the hey, we'll give it a go anyway. And after that? Eh... I don't think either of us could be able to handle Insane...

And now that I think about it, we're what, a month away from Halo 3? I guess Gears of War will be a big help in getting us ready to see what becomes of Master Chief. I'll be definately welcoming back those plasma grenades... love those things!

Well, cutting this shorter then usual... it's time for work *yuck* and I'd rather get it over sooner rather then later. Anyway, nice little game post huh? I think I might post one more time today, just to get out some other thoughts that have been floating around in my clouded mind.

Spotty Thoughts!

Spotty thoughts... hmm... yes, that is my lame attempt at coming up with something "witty." I'm starting to wonder, maybe I should have a banner with these words in huge, bold letters: "We Aim To Fail!"

Catchy?

No?

Yeah... that does kind of kill a person's self confidence doesn't it? It is so not easy to be inspired and stuff. But alas, this fool shall soldier on, though likely in vain, towards whatever end may come.

Hey! 300 is coming out on DVD soon! Can't wait for that one, that's for sure! (Best subject transition ever!?)

Some have said that it (300) starts out slow, but I didn't mind it. I mean once the action starts up, there that goes until basically the very end of the movie. Yes, blood, guts and gore for as far as the eye can see.

I got so into it, I was absolutely destroyed when what looked to be a massive army of Spartans were about to go head on with... um, those guys they were slaughtering for most of the film. Who in the hell were they again?

Another movie I'd like to see is Captivity, starring Elsha Cuthbert. It looks interesting to me, which kind of says something because most of these horror movies just make me laugh. Although I must admit, just about anything with Elsha Cuthbert in it looks pretty damn good to me also, so...

*ahem*

Gears of War! Fun! Whodathunkit!? It is interesting and different, considering I was half expecting something a little more like a Halo. What is even more amazing, my girlfriend and I make a fairly good team in the game. Aliens beware! We'll pump you full of lead and then proceed to subject you to an hour or more of arguing! Mwahahaha!

Speaking of Halo 3, I finally got around to reserving myself a copy, along with Blue Dragon. A little late, yes. It'll be interesting to see how the story finally ends, or will it even end at all? I think Halo needs to get a little "Doom"-ish, I mean give Master Chief a BFG-like gun....! Flood beware.

Back for a second to Blue Dragon, I hope it turns out good. I suppose this will prove if it was the creator of Final Fantasy that was the magic behind the series. Or if he was just a part of a team that made it all work.

Here's hoping he can make it happen!

Another RPG type game that has gotten my attention is Fable 2. Granted, I didn't care all that much for the first game (why does being evil require having flies...?). Still, this one looks to have improved, which I hope is a given on a next gen system. Just thinking about it makes me wonder what evil things can a person do to that dog.... *evil grin*

Just kidding of course. I kind of wonder though, I hope it'll live up to it's own hype this time around. And I hope it's maker isn't going around (again), telling everyone that'll listen that Fable will be the greatest game ever.

It was interesting to read how Congress has sent a letter to WWE, wanting them to provide them with their drug policy and their records of the tests. While it remains a tradigy no doubt, I suppose this was one good that came out of a bad situation.

I still do hope that this helps stop or seriously reduce the drug use in wrestling. I, like I'm sure a lot of wrestling fans are, sick of seeing more and more wrestlers dropping dead.

I was going to throw in a little more random thoughts and such, but eh. Today we shall be focused! yes! Random shall not win, not on this day or the next! Ok, that might be a lie...
