.hack//G.U. Volume 2//Reminisce

There are two games I either can't wait to play, or simply cannot due to outdated stuff. One of which being .hack//G.U. Volume 2//Reminisce (PS2) and the other is Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars for PC and XBox 360.

But CC3 is one I can't play due to my computer being unable to handle the graphics (and me being cheap and not wanting to buy an expensive graphics card and god knows what else to make it work) and I haven't gotten around to getting a Xbox 360. Yet.

Moving on!

To be honest, I had absolutely zero interest in the previous four games in the .hack series. To me, they looked pretty dull and generally uninteresting. Right or wrong, I don't know but even while I do enjoy this second set of games, I still really don't have any interest in playing the previous story.

So why then am I playing the G.U. series? Good question, one which even I cannot actually answer at this point. Then again, maybe I will try...

Dungeons and monsters are horrible to me, I mean they (being the monsters) follow each other in a circle and don't roam at all. I think it would make for a better challenge to try and sneak attack a roaming monster, rather then one that is slumping around behind it's buddies in a circle all day.

What I thought was a interesting concept was the ability to be able to put together words that would generate dungeons. It has so much potential to keep game play interesting and could seriously boost replayability. But ultimately, it lacked in variety and before you know it, you've already seen and played through all that the game can throw at you.

Another area I wanted to get further involved, but could not, was the arena battles. I don't know why, but I wanted to jump up in the rankings and become number 1. But you can't. You can only take part in 1 tournament and a few fights and that is it. To move on, you have to play part 2.

Lame.

So far, nothing good to really say huh? Such a terrible game, why play it? Well in all honesty, it isn't a terrible game. For me personally, I think this game's saving grace is it's story, game play was secondary. Now I know for a fact that that is the reason behind my enjoyment, because I am actually hyped up about Volume 2 which will be out in a matter of days!

And after Volume 1's cliffhanger ending, I can't wait to see how the story continues. What happened to Atoil? Is Tri-Edge gone? What about G.U.? And for the sake of my sanity, what is that bastard Sakaki planning!??

Besides that, there will be more party members (Piros and Gaspard are 2 of the most useless characters in the game! Or at least that is my own opinion anyway.), upgradeable steam bike, Haseo's third form (pictured above) and hopefully better dungeons (yeah right). Still, I am hyped! Ok, maybe not hyped like a kid in a candy store, but damn near close!

New Movies and Supermodels!

I always search for a reason or an excuse to post a picture of a beautiful girl, and today's reason is... umm.... well because I just damn well can!? I think that is as logical an answer as I can give this matter.

I mean it is Alessandra Ambrosio! Victoria's Secret model! Hot? Understatement of the year in my book!

And with that said and done now, onto the rest of this thing. Writing. Whatever. Oops, lost my focus there for a moment or more.

I think one thing I do admire about Alessandra Ambrosio over so many other models is the fact that she isn't bone thin like so many have become over the years. Now that isn't pretty and obviously not healthy either.

What makes me wonder also is if she really is as good a person as I've read about so many times? I've wondered about this for a number of "famous" people, if they are really down to earth or if maybe it is all just an act in the end?

Granted, a person can't always be happy and all that. I know and understand that we all have our good and bad days, regardless of who we are. Who knows, maybe someday I will meet someone truly "famous" and find the answer to the questions myself.

Just last night, I was catching up on what new movies were coming out in the next few months. Among what I saw, here are a few I thought to be worthwhile:

1. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
2. Ocean's 13
3. Spider-Man 3
4. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

After watching the most recent trailer, I think I am actually more hyped up for the next Harry Potter movie, followed secondly (and closely) by Spider-Man 3. I am liking how the Potter movies are truly growing darker in tone and theme and the next movie appears to pack in a whole lot more action then any of the previous films.

Random cut-in: Weather in Hawaii still sucks.

Ocean's 13 looks funny, hopefully funny like Ocean's 11 and not 12. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy both movies but I favor Ocean's 11 more for sure. To me, it seemed like the characters lost a lot of ground in 12, which was sad in my opinion.

On a funny and sad note collectively, my return to Final Fantasy 11 was meant with as much enthusiasm as a kid going to a dentist. As it goes, I think I haven't logged back in in about 2 weeks now. I don't know, I think I could jump back into it and get that fun feeling again, but alas... nope.

The only feeling I got out of the whole thing was a headache. Worth $12 a month? I think not.

Finished off .hack//G.U. Volume 1 in about a week, that has a fairly good story behind of it. My only gripe is the dungeon design is so bland and the monsters don't even roam. They just march in circles, just waiting to be slaughtered.

Despite that, it is fairly good though the ending of the first game just drops off like a Korean Drama episode. So now I have to wait until Vol. 2 is released some time in the beginning of May. Joy....!

And I think this post was semi-productive, if not just a mash up of random thoughts with a shot of male hormones to keep it all flowing. Man that just doesn't sound right...

I blame that on the lack of sleep! Good night!

Rain and the Aimless Mind

To start off, I know I wrote about this the last time out and all, but I believe that it is worth mentioning yet again.

Undertaker.

World Heavyweight Champion.

It is awesome to see the "Deadman" have another go as the top dog, no doubt about that. But I also can't help but feel a little down to think that this might very well be the final run for the Undertaker.

Jumping subject, or at least changing the focus to a different wrestling promotion, I was shocked to read AJ Styles is teaming with Christian Cage. Now unless I am that far out of touch with what those guys are doing, isn't Cage a bad guy? When did and why did Styles go to the "dark side"?

Another thing about TNA, I didn't know/realize that Austin Starr was Austin Aries. Sucks to hear the guy was suspended from TNA too. Personally, I enjoyed watching any matcht that I seen the guy in. I'd like to see him and Styles or maybe Christopher Daniels have a go.

And now for the jump in subjects...

Life is generally the same for me (which isn't a bad thing at this point), which pretty much consists of waking up, working and sleeping everyday. Such is the life of an "adult" I know... sigh...

Weather here in Hawaii has been pure crap over the past week or so, with it just being dark and raining most the time. It makes my work... er... at work all the more headache inducing. And to think, my hermit self actually felt like going to the park a time or two!

My hats off to the Honolulu Police for actually being out on the streets and tagging anyone and everyone (even tourists) for jaywalking. It sounds like such a minor and meddlesome thing to get a ticket over, but considering Oahu had over 5 deaths in the first two months of this year due to people being hit in crosswalks (and out too), it is needed.

Random and short thought: Hate James Bond? Try giving Casino Royale a shot (if you haven't already)! It is simply an awesome movie, far and above my favorite one of the very few I've personally seen.

I don't think I'll be seeing any new movies until Spider Man 3. It seems like every week I manage to see a new trailer for the movie and it just does not help! Go away evil trailers! Go!

Another random mentioning, I finally found a archiving method on here that is actually up-to-date. I know it is such a minor detail, but I tend to focus on those minor things no matter how hard I try not to.

Feeling lazy, so that is that. Done. Maybe I'll write again today. Or tomorrow. Who knows when, but I shall return...

Random Thoughts of the Day!

I've really been meaning to write much more often, but I have been finding myself unable to every single time I log in. Lack of motivation?

Probably.

Then again, maybe it is just the fact that I haven't really had much happen then I've felt like writing about here. Some days it seems life just goes flat, though I can't complain. Days without drama or headaches is always a plus.

I did get to see 300 and TMNT and both were fairly good in their own ways.

300 was fairly graphic and it certainly did not lack action, not for a moment. It basically spent maybe a half hour to set up the story and from there it is just ass kicking until the very end. I definately can't wait to pick this one up on DVD...

TMNT was interesting, though it felt like it had lost the charm it once had. Maybe its a sign that I'm getting too old? Still, it has its good moments and overall it is a good kids movie that packs in some decent animated action. I definately liked the concept of the seperation between the brothers, it was a nice change up to the story in my opinion.

To top this off, I just celebrated my birthday some days ago and so now I am a mildly old 23 years old now. Oh crap! Is that a wrinkle I see!?? Noooooo! No Ensure! No adult diapers! No prunes either!

Yuck.

Wrestlemania 23 was this past Sunday and to be honest, I had absolutely no interest in seeing this PPV. I know I have lost a great deal of interest in this over the past several years, in due part to the fact that the shows seem sloppy in a way and just uninteresting. It is no joke when you begin to realize that they are just repeating themselves over and over and over....

But anyway, back to Wrestlemania...

I was definately unsure as to how the Undertaker/Batista match would end and I was some what surprised to read that Undertaker walked away as the World Heavyweight Champion. I suppose this might be his last run? Who knows.

One thing for certain was that I was betting that Shawn Michaels was going to walk out of there as the WWE Champion. WWE seems absolutely determined to keep John Cena a good guy and champ, despite being boo'd out of the building...

I did have a few more thoughts about the PPV, but I think I'll take a pass and cut this writing shorter then normal. Who knows when the next time will be that I write here? Funny thing though, maybe I do this to leave my mark some where in this crazy world and to think that this entire blog could be destroyed so easily...

Lame.

Oh well.

Forget tomorrow and live for today, that seems to be my daily way of life. And let me say, it isn't working out all that great!

Till next time...
